Developing and maintaining a partnership
To form a successful partnership between the community and public sector there will be many different types of partnership structures open to you, and to decide which is most appropriate for you, you will need to consider your respective areas of expertise, the issues and implications surrounding different structures. You will also need to think about the responsibilities of the different partners within the partnerships and draw up documents or contracts that record this agreement.
Once the benefits of partnership working between the community and public sector have been identified and a partnership formed, you may reach a stage where you feel that there is further potential for the partnership.
This may involve identifying additional partners in either the community sector or other public sector, or may involve expanding or diversifying the services of the organisations already operating in the partnership.
