Developing and maintaining a partnership

To form a successful partnership between the community and private sector there will be many different types of partnership structures open to you, and to decide which is most appropriate for you, you will need to consider your respective areas of expertise, the issues and implications surrounding different structures.

You will also need to think about the responsibilities of the different partners within the partnerships and draw up documents or contracts that record this agreement.

This section gives links to information on the types of partnership and levels of responsibility that would be appropriate for community/private sector partnerships and how to decide which one would be most appropriate.

Once the benefits of partnership working between the community and private sector have been identified and a partnership formed, there are many issues that you will need to consider to ensure that the partnership stays on track and achieves what it set out to achieve.

This may involve developing structures, processes, communication and reporting channels or agreed ways of working to ensure that all involved in the partnership understand their roles, responsibilities and targets.

This section gives links to information on the types of partnership and levels of responsibility that would be appropriate for community/private sector partnerships and how to decide which one would be most appropriate.
