Growing and diversifying
If you are considering expanding and/or diversifying your project or your organisation, you will need to be aware of the challenges and legal, practical, administrative and resource implications, which need to be considered.You may decide to diversify, for example, to expand your furniture re-use scheme to include other items or to offer training and qualifications.
To do this you will needs to re-visit your business plan and budget and use your feedback from your evaluation process to ensure you are going in the right direction.
You may find that expansion of your work takes your project into a new field and as a result you may need to change your reporting procedures, check your trading laws, re-word your memorandum of understanding and articles of association or have your accounts professionally audited. You may be moving from an all-voluntary project to a mix of paid and unpaid staff, all of which requires careful consideration, especially how to maintain existing support levels and not alienate either groups as you grow.
