employee rights
Employees rights are governed by two sources: Acts of Parliament such as the Employment Act 2002 (statutory rights) and contracts of employment (contractual rights), which between them dictate everything from pay and working hours, to union activity and protection against unlawful dismissal.
It is important to ensure that you are aware of the rights of your staff, whether they are full time, permanent paid positions, or part-time voluntary positions and that these rights are adhered to.
This section gives links to the different aspects of employee rights including: childcare provision, Data Protection Act for employers and employees employee dismissal rights, flexible working hours, holidays, maternity rights and statutory sick pay and many others.
