training, development and qualifications

Training and development of staff is important for their overall job satisfaction, morale and effectiveness, but, it can also help you develop sound business practices and services which will attract your clients and your new employees and improve your organisation’s effectiveness.
For the Community Waste sector, training will increase confidence and skills needed to achieve the capacity required to effectively deliver the increased service delivery of re-use, recycling, composting and waste awareness.

Many community waste organisations work with special needs and long term unemployed people. They may offer training and development opportunities particularly tailored to these staff and volunteers’ needs.

This section covers business planning for the integration of staff training and development, course providers, and some courses on offer for both employees, volunteers and employers. It also looks at options available for vocational training and development versus recognised qualifications.
